You can now share your payment method on Scribie.com with your other team members. Your team members can use the payment method to place orders. This in particularly useful in organizations where multiple users require the same payment method.
Earlier, only the team owner could place orders, whereas the other team members could only upload/access files. With this change, this restriction is gone. Hat tip to our customers who requested this feature.
This new feature allows the payment method added by the first team member to be shared with everyone else and orders can be placed using that.
All team members are also included in all important email notifications.

Thank you for choosing Scribie for your transcription needs. We have a few important policy updates for 2017. These changes come into effect from Jan 1st, 2017.
It is important to note that a majority of our customers will not be adversely affected by these changes. It will improve our operational efficiency and enable us to serve you better.
Over the past 12-months, we have experienced incredible growth—for a small unfunded startup, this is no easy feat and we are very grateful to all our customers for that. We believe that the reason for such unprecedented growth is our core philosophy we hold dear and fast.
This fundamental philosophy is simple:
The new rate chart is the following
Transcription Rate, per minute of audio
Budget: Our most affordable price point will stay the same but in order to manage expectations the delivery date has been simplified to 5 days. However, it is important to note we will do everything possible to deliver as early as possible. We would rather exceed our customer’s expectations, rather than merely meet them. This was called Flex 5 earlier, with a turnaround time of 3-5 days.
Regular: Scribie has nominally increased the price for orders to be delivered in 36 hours. This allows us to compensate transcribers for working after hours and overtime to ensure your files are delivered with the highest quality and accuracy within 36 hours. Once again, we will try our hardest to beat the delivery expectation without sacrificing quality and accuracy. This was called 1 Day earlier with a turnaround time of 24-36 hours.
Rush: Scribie has adjusted the price for orders to be delivered in 12 hours. Again, this ensures our transcribers are paid appropriately for their time and effort while guaranteeing your files are delivered with the highest quality and accuracy within 12 hours. And just like our other services, our goal will be to beat these delivery expectations. This was called Express earlier, with a turnaround time of 8-12 hours.
Bulk Discounts: Scribie will no longer discount bulk orders. In the spirit of authenticity, we are creating an even playing field for all our customers.
You can now export all of your transcripts directly to your Google Drive account from Scribie.com.
To export your files go to the Files section then select a finished transcription file and click “Save to Google Drive”
Once selected you’ll be prompted to sign in to your Google Drive account.
Sign in with the account you want to save your files to.
Once signed in, click save again and specify the directory you want to save your files too.
Enjoy using Google Drive to save your files seamlessly.

Google provides us with a variety of services and tools to make our lives easier. One tool in particular, voice dictation, is now available in Google Docs. It’s an easy feature that makes the lives of those using it run a little smoother. Need to get an email sent? How about the notes for your next business meeting? Google Docs voice dictation makes that possible, without you having to really lift too many fingers.
To get started, you will need to have the latest version of Google Chrome installed and a microphone for your computer. With these tools set up, you’ll head to Google Drive and open a new Google Docs word processing document. You’ll go to the top menu and select Tools, then . A pop-up window will appear with a dark microphone icon in the middle. Once you click on the microphone, it will turn red to signify that it’s recording and you can start to speak.
It’s okay if you need to think about your words as you’re speaking; Google will wait. When you’ve completed your dictation, click the microphone to turn off the dictation. It is important to note that punctuation needs to be dictated.
An added benefit to voice dictation is that you can edit and format as well. Take the sentence, “I like pie.” To edit or format it, just say “select ‘I like pie’ and follow that with whatever formatting change you need to make. That could include “apply heading” or “apply underline.”
You can also create itemized list by saying “create numbered list” or “create bullet list.” When you need to go to the next item on the list, just say “new line” and say “new line” twice to finish the list. And no fears if you mess up! You can simply say “undo” to change any mistakes.
For transcribers, these features can be a great time saver. Not only that, but it can reduce the amount of effort you have to put in to typing up your latest project. Life made simple by Google. It’s as though Google just provided you with the option of having your own free secretary. For those you who may wonder what all can you type with your voice, Google even made a complete list of commands for your viewing pleasure.
We have AWESOME news for you. Now, there are only 3 rates in regards to turnaround options: express, 1 day, and 5 day. There used to be 5 options that included: Express, 24 hours, 5 days, 15 days and 30 days. Of course, there are a few of you out there wonder why the change? Why take away choices or even limit your choices?
For starters, there’s a psychological reason behind it. According to research, we are actually happier with fewer choices and it enables us to actually make an informed decision. More choices tend to make us less satisfied than when we had fewer choices. Take it one step further, we are paying more for the same things we had prior to the additional choices. By decreasing the number of choices, you as customers, have a simple decision to make.
Another benefit for customers can be seen in the 5 day option. Once the 3rd day comes around, customers can see a draft transcript. This allows you to get some work done ahead of schedule.
From a business point of view, it allows us to streamline the process, which in turn makes it a better experience for you, the customer. This means it reduces issues with quality and services, there’s a reduction in wasted resources, and a decrease in cost.

Also, most of our transcripts have rough drafts completed within three to four hours. This rough draft hasn’t passed our QA experts yet, so we cannot guarantee our 98% accuracy until it’s finished, but it’s a great option if you’re in a pinch for time.
Ever faced a communication black hole?
Let me explain.
You come across a service provider who seems responsible, eagerly answers all your questions, and promptly replies to your emails. You are impressed enough to give him the job. But then something changes, and your super-responsive provider goes silent until one fine morning when you see your work delivered. You are not very happy with the final product and recommend a few changes, but nope that’s not possible because your provider informs that revisions are not a part of the contract. Now you are stuck with a bad provider, an unsatisfactory product, and an empty wallet.

That’s why Scribie has introduced three new features that give you the controls. You can monitor the transcription process, keep a tab on its progress and leave a comment about your experience. How cool is that? Here is what you need to know:
Progress Meter: This is kind of self-explanatory. It serves as a reference point and lets you check the progress of a transcription. For instance, you can see files that are say, 98 percent complete. The number changes to 100 as the work is finished. It gives you the peace of mind to know that your job is being worked upon and you also get an idea of when to expect the final product.
Draft Transcript: You can find this tab just beside the Progress Meter. Click on it to see the transcript. You can even download the draft if you want. This feature is very useful in case of a good quality audio file. For transcriptions that are 100 percent complete, the Draft Transcript button changes to the Check and Download option. You have the option to download the transcribed file in Word, PDF, Open Document Text or Plain Text formats. However, you don’t have to accept the file yet. If you are not satisfied, you can request a re-review, which we do free of any extra charge.
